I've been professionally training horses for about 15 years. I began showing and training primarily Paint horses in the mid 90's. I was lured into the breed by one of my main mentors APHA judge Tom Crowley. The Crowley family took me in and allowed me to travel to Paint shows with their children. Once I got a taste of the Paint shows there was no turning back from that point on.
My husband Paul and I moved to Zumbro Falls, MN in 2000. We had our first son that year and began a new venture running a small hobby farm. We started with 2-3 of our own horses and just a few stalls in our converted dairy barn. We had a lot of help that first year getting our stalls in, fencing up, ground worked up etc. from good friends and clients like the Crowley's, Olson's, and the Bauer's.
What started out a few stall barn developed into a 12 stall operation with anywhere from 10-22 horses on the premises at any time. The biggest step in my business was building our indoor arena in 2003 and opening more options for training outside horses and marketing our own.
While working 3 days a week at St. Elizabeth's hospital in Wabasha, MN , I try to balance training horses and keeping a happy family. My husband Paul and I are busy with our boys Trinity 6 , Tyson 4 and Trey 1½. I find that the constant noise and activity of 3 boys at our farm makes for well adjusted horses. My clients comment of how quiet they are when they come to see their mounts.
I have had a successful stint in the business to date. I have made an APHA Champion, many Superior Open Western Pleasure and English Pleasure horses, had had both the Champion and Reserve MPHA 2 year old Western Pleasure horse and Longe Liner several years running, finished top 5 in many state furturities, top ten WWPHC in several events.
My specialty is in training and showing the young horses along with coaching youth and amateurs to achieve their goals.
